Why South Eastern Alberta

 

There are a number of advantages for a Gleaners project being located in South-eastern Alberta (the Redcliff and Medicine Hat area):

 

  • Major vegetable production in this area from the greenhouse growers and field producers

  • Ideal conditions for dehydrating due to least expensive natural gas in North America, dry climate and amongst the highest average hours of sunshine

  • Considered to be the retirement capital of the prairies, with strong volunteerism

  • Crossroads of Hwy # 3 and Trans Canada Hwy and on main national railway line
